The era of single-app AI is over. SHIFT's Open Agent Platform lets external AI assistants — Claude, GPT, Gemini agents, or your own custom agent — authenticate, search professionals, and create bookings through a secure REST API. Every booking created by an agent carries full audit trail: source, API key identity, and user consent token. Professionals see agent-created bookings clearly labelled in their dashboard.

MCP Server: Zero-Code Integration

The SHIFT MCP server is live, hosted and remote — there is nothing to install and no local process to run. Point Claude Desktop's custom-connector dialog, the Claude API, or any MCP-compatible client at `https://mcp.shiftsyndicate.ca/mcp` and the tools appear as native capabilities in your assistant. It exposes 21 tools across four access tiers: ten are fully public and need no credentials at all — search_professionals, get_professional, get_services, check_availability — while booking, schedule and roster tools unlock through an interactive device-code sign-in. The user authorises in a browser and the agent receives a short-lived session key, so no long-lived credential is ever handed to the agent.

Built for the Agent Economy

API keys are generated from the Integrations dashboard with granular scope control — read-only keys for discovery, write-enabled keys for booking. Keys are stored as SHA-256 hashes, never in plaintext. The dual authentication model ensures every booking has both app identity (who is calling) and user consent (on whose behalf). Rate-limited, auditable, and revocable at any time.
